Attorney Adam Horowitz announces the filing of a lawsuit in Lee County, Florida against a World Gym franchise in Lehigh Acres after the gym hired registered sex offender Gregory Ryan Miedema to work at the gym despite the fact that the gym also employed a minor and had a daycare for the children of its members.  Gregory Miedema is a registered sex offender in the State of Florida after being convicted in 2011 of sexual intercourse with a minor and possession of hundreds of images child pornography while in the military, according to public records.

The lawsuit alleges that Gregory Miedema stalked, harassed, grabbed, chased, flirted with, and otherwise frightened a teenage co-worker at World Gym on various dates when she was employed in 2016.  The lawsuit also claims that World Gym had digital video recordings of some of Mr. Miedema’s sexual misconduct but allowed those recording to be lost or deleted after viewing them.  World Gym terminated Gregory Miedema’s employment but allowed him to continue working out at the gym, according to the Complaint.   As a result, the teenage employee resigned from her employment World Gym.

The Plaintiff in the lawsuit is represented by sexual abuse attorney Adam Horowitz in Fort Lauderdale and co-counsel Brad Rothman of Weldon & Rothman in Naples.
