Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Andrew Ulincy:

Fr. Andrew Ulincy was ordained a priest in 1966, who served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Allentown. According to media reports, in 2018, his name was included on the Diocese of Allentown list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse. He was also named publicly as accused in the 2018 PA Grand Jury report, which noted the Diocese of Allentown received its first notice that Fr. Ulincy was sexually abusing children in 1981, when a 17-year-old boy reported to Bethlehem Police that he had been propositioned by Ulincy. The priest admitted to the allegation when confronted by police.

According to investigators, the boy was a runaway who sought refuge and help at the church.  The priest took the boy in and told him to shower while he washed the boy’s clothes.  The priest fondled the boy under the guise of “helping him dry off” after the shower.  He then forced the boy onto his bed and raped the child.  There were no criminal charges filed and Ulincy continued in ministry unrestricted.

In the early 1990s, during a remodel of the rectory where Ulincy was assigned, Ulincy reportedly exposed his penis to one of the workers.  The victim, who was an adult man, reported it to police.  Charges were dropped after a cash payout was made to the victim and Ulincy was immediately transferred to a new parish.

In 2010, Ulincy was finally removed from ministry after a second interview of the original victim for an undisclosed reason.  This was more than 25 years after the original report, as well as what may have been an inpatient treatment (as he was on sick leave from 1981-1982).  Indeed, Ulincy had even served as a pastor and a board member for Cardinal Brennan Catholic High School.

Ulincy died in 2016.
