Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father James Nolan:

Father James Nolan was ordained a priest in 1929, who served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Scranton. According to media reports, in 2003, the Diocese received a report from a 75- year-old man who stated that he was sexually abused by Father  Nolan as a 15-year-old altar boy. He was fondled over his clothing by Nolan.

In 2018, he was first named publicly as accused in the PA Grand Jury Report. Nolan’s name appears on the Diocese of Scranton’s list of credibly accused priests, meaning that the internal review deemed this (or some other) allegation against Nolan to be credible.

Nolan died in 1957.
