Summary of Allegations Against Father John Chess:

Father John Chess was ordained a priest in 1963, who served in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. According to media reports, he was first named publicly as accused in a priest profile in the 2018 Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report.  The Diocese of Pittsburgh did not offer any details about the allegation(s) that have been made against Chess, except to say that at least one led to his removal in 1991.

Chess died in 2011, according to the Diocese of Pittsburgh.  At the time of his death, he was a priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh without assignment.
