Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Anthony Manuppella:

According to media reports, Father Anthony Manuppella was accused of making unwelcome advances and discussing a homosexual lifestyle with a seminary student, and taking him to gay bars, according to a lawsuit filed against the Diocese of Camden in 1999.

Anthony Manuppella denied the allegations.

The lawsuit was ultimately dismissed and argued to the New Jersey Supreme Court, which held that the matter violated the First Amendment’s Free Exercise of Religion Clause. There was no determination that Manuppella (or any of the other accused priests) was innocent of the allegations made.

Horowitz Law devoted a blog to Father Anthony Manueppella here.

As of August 2023, Anthony Manupella remains in ministry and is currently the pastor of St. Gianna Beretta Molla parish in Northfield, New Jersey.
