Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Msgr. William McKeone:

Msgr. William J. McKeone was ordained a priest in 1972. However, the Diocese of Trenton has McKeone’s ordination year as 1969. The Diocese of Trenton recently released a list naming each of the priests within their ministry who have credible allegations of child sexual abuse against them. The Diocese included McKeone on that list. McKeone has numerous allegations of credible child sexual abuse against him and has since been removed from ministry.

Furthermore, McKeone was accused of abuse of an altar boy when the boy was 13-14 years old, in 1975-76, while McKeone was assigned to St. Denis in Manasquan, New Jersey. According to media reports, McKeone abused the child on at least 30 occasions. In 2019, there was a settlement in that case in the low six figures.

However, McKeone remained in active ministry until he was removed, presumably due to a credible allegation of sexual abuse in 2016.

McKeone was named in a 1994 civil conspiracy lawsuit filed against the Diocese of Trenton, along with several other priests and then-Bishop John Reiss.

The Diocese of Trenton did not release McKeone’s last known location. He is believed to be residing in the Burlington, New Jersey area.
