Not much is known about the allegations made against Father Joseph E. Larrabee except that his name appeared on the 2012 Rochester Diocese list of priests removed between 2002 and 2012. The Diocese of Rochester has not released any information about the allegation(s) against him, including date(s) the abuse allegedly occurred and the age/gender of his victims.
In February 2020, Larrabee was named in a civil lawsuit filed under the New York Child Victims Act, which temporarily suspended the statute of limitations for lawsuits relating to child sexual abuse. According to that lawsuit, Larrabee sexually abused a 12 year old boy on 25 occasions in 1983 while Larrabee was assigned to St. John the Evangelist.
