Summary of Abuse Allegations against Monsignor John Doherty:

Monsignor John Doherty (Dougherty) was ordained a priest in 1939, who served in the Diocese of Orange. According to media reports, he was accused of sexually abusing a minor from approximately 1967 to 1969. He was named in a civil lawsuit in 2003. He is believed to have lived at a private residence in Dana Point, California, for some time following his retirement in 1989. He was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors.
