Summary of Abuse Allegations Against Father Edward Byrne:

Father Edward Byrne worked in the Diocese of Brooklyn and the Diocese of Rockville Centre. With a career spanning decades, he served in multiple parishes and retired in August 2018. According to media reports, in May 2019, he was named publicly on the Archdiocese of New York’s list of priests with substantiated claims of child sexual abuse.  In 1971 and 1972, he allegedly abused a boy of about 11 years old, while he was assigned to St. Barnabas Apostle in Bellmore New York. He died in February 1988.
