Summary of Abuse Allegations Against Brother Harold Harvers:

Brother Harold Harvers was a member of the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn. According to media reports, in January 1995, he was accused in a lawsuit of sexually harassing and abusing an 18-year-old female graduate of St. Anthony High School in South Huntington, NY, where he taught her three years earlier. When the alleged victim’s parents complained to the school and to the Diocese of Rockville Centre, nothing was done.

She said he would brush up against her, grab and kiss her in the hallways. She also said he told her “I have dreams about you.” She claimed that at one point Brother Harvers told her I am having unholy thoughts about you, and if I don’t censor my thoughts, I may lose my job.”

Brother Harvers died in August 2004.

In August 2019, Brother Harvers was accused in a lawsuit filed under the NY Child Victims Act, of sexually abusing a 12-year-old parishioner at St. Ignatius in Hicksville in 1969.
