Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father John P. Doran:

Father John Doran was ordained as a priest in the Diocese of Tucson in 1945 and served in five different parishes around the state of Arizona. He became a priest of the Diocese of Phoenix in 1969 when it was formed and continued in ministry for Phoenix until he retired in 1990.

In 2002, a letter read to parishioners of the Diocese of Phoenix identified Doran as a priest previously accused of sexually abusing minors. The allegations specifically made against Father Doran stem back from 1963 while he was serving at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Phoenix, which was then a part of the Diocese of Tucson. No specific details were given such as the age/gender of the victim(s) or the kind of sexual abuse that occurred.

Doran died in 1997, before any allegations were made against him publicly.
