Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Joesph Briceno:

In 2003, Father Joseph Briceno was indicted on six counts of sexual misconduct with a minor dating back to the 1980’s. The male victim came forward several years after the alleged incidents and claimed that Briceno abused him multiple times at the church he was attending. It was said that Briceno also made sexual advances towards the victim’s sister as well. The church removed Briceno from active duty in 1992 and he was later removed permanently from public ministry in 2002.

He later fled back to Mexico after the charges were filed and is believed to have worked as a priest in Mexicali. He was captured by law enforcement in 2005 and returned to Phoenix where he plead guilty to two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor and was sentenced to two years in prison. He also had to register as a sex offender.

He is not currently registered in the National Sex Offender Registry, which suggests that he has returned to Mexico, but his exact whereabouts are unknown.
