Fr. John Hauser worked in the Catholic Youth Organization and was a Diocesan Chaplain for Scouting. According to media reports, in February 2019, Hauser’s name appeared publicly on the Diocese of Brooklyn’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. The details of the allegations, including when and where the abuse occurred, are unknown.

Hauser retired in 2013 and was permanently removed from ministry in May 2015. His status as a priest, whereabouts, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
