Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Gino Vertassich:

Father Gino Vertassich was ordained a priest of the Glenmary Home Missioners order in 1960, and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Charlotte. He joined the order in 1960 and left in 1975.  According to media reports, in October 2019, he was publicly named on the Ohio-based Glenmary Home Missioners’ list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse. The alleged abuse of a minor by Father Vertassich occured in 1969 in Connecticut.

In the 1960s, Father Vertassich served in parishes in western North Carolina that later became part of the Diocese of Charlotte when it was erected in the 1970s.  According to the Diocese of Charlotte, it has no documented abuse allegations against Vertassich from his assignments in North Carolina.

Father Vertassich died in 2003.
