Father Robert Devoy was from Quebec, Canada. He served as a priest in the Diocese of Burlington in Vermont for approximately 52 years. In 1935, he was assigned as chaplain of the St. Joseph Orphanage until his death in 1955. According to media reports, in August 2019, his name appeared publicly on the Diocese of Burlington’s list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. It noted that the Diocese of Burlington received the allegation in 1996.
