Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Stanislaus Ceglar:
Father Stanislaus Ceglar was first named as a priest publicly accused of sexual abuse on the New Orleans archdiocese’s list on November 12th, 2018. The allegation against Ceglar was received in 2010 of abuse that was said to have occurred in the 1960’s. No further information has been released. Stanislaus Ceglar was originally a religious order priest from the Salesians of Don Bosco, but was serving under the Archdiocese of New Orleans at the time of the allegation.
The list includes priests and clergy, many who also served at Hope Haven in Marrero. On the list of 57 abusive clergy members released by the archdiocese, eight were credibly accused of abuse, and at one point during their career spent time at Hope Haven.
