Br. Julio Ortiz joined the Congregation of the Mission, however, the year he joined is unknown. According to media reports, Ortiz was newly accused of engaging in “unpermitted sexual contact” with an altar boy victim, according to court documents. In September of 2019, he was accused of sexually abusing an 11-year-old altar boy from 1962 to 1963 at the now-closed St. Peter’s – Our Lady of Pilar in Cobble Hill, New York. His current whereabouts and whether he has access to children are unknown.
