According to the Diocese of Brooklyn, Fr. Christopher L Coleman was removed from ministry in 2011 and was laicized in December 2013. According to media reports, in 2017, his Facebook and LinkedIn pages indicated that he was still presenting himself as a priest and was living at the Queen of All Saints Church in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.

In February 2019, Coleman’s name appeared publicly on the Diocese of Brooklyn’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. The details of the case were not made public and did not go to court.

In February 2020, it was reported that Coleman received a doctorate in sociology from the CUNY Graduate Center and since 2010, has been a hermit and counselor at the Hermitage of Peace which is not affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church, but is part of the ‘Old Roman Catholic Church’.
