Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Guy Puglisi:

In a 2020 lawsuit, Fr. Guy Puglisi has been accused of sexually abusing two minors at St. Teresa of Avila in Albany, NY, one between 1974 to 1975 and the other in 1976. No information on the allegation regarding the age/gender of the victims was given. The 1976 Official Catholic Directory lists Puglisi as absent on leave from the Diocese of Brooklyn during that time, working at St. Teresa’s in Albany, New York.

Puglisi served as superintendent of schools for the Diocese of Brooklyn for nearly a decade. In 2003, Puglisi died from cancer at the age of 59.
