Father Bruce Favreau

Diocese of Ogdensburg

Ordained: 1980

Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Bruce Favreau:

Father Bruce Favreau was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Ogdensburg in 1980. According to media reports, in November 2018, his name was included on the Diocese of Ogdensburg’s list of 28 priests who were credibly accused of sexual misconduct with a minor or a vulnerable adult.

Details of the allegation, including the number of alleged victims or when and where the alleged misconduct occurred, are unknown. The list noted that Father Favreau has been removed from ministry, but is still living.

Diocesan officials had previously said they would not release the names, largely to protect the privacy of victims. Each name on the list has been internally investigated and the Diocesan Review Board found that the allegations were credible.
