Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Eugene Mangan:

Fr. Eugene Mangan was ordained in 1958. In 2019, his name appeared on the Archdiocese of New York’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. The claims against him are eligible for the Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program (IRCP).

In 2020, Mangan was accused in a lawsuit of molesting a boy at The Mission of the Immaculate Virgin at the Mount Loretto orphanage between 1963-1974. According to media reports, the boy entered the orphanage when was approximately 8 years old and said he suffered repeated sexual, emotional, and physical abuse by numerous priests and staff members. This was the second lawsuit alleging abuse of a boy by Mangan at the facility.

Mangan died in 1997.
