Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Ignatius Rossi:

Fr. Ignatius Rossi of the Franciscan Friars was named in a civil lawsuit filed against the Diocese of Albany in June 2020 along with other clerics accused of child sex abuse within the Diocese.

Rossi was accused of sexually abusing a minor from 1957 to 1960 at St. Anthony of Padua in Troy, NY. According to the reports filed, Fr. Rossi was involved in “unpermitted sexual contact” against a student aged 11-14.

Fr. Rossi died in 1989, 31 years prior to allegations came to light.
