Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father John J Brady:

A former war hero and Army vet, Fr. John J Brady was named in a 2004 lawsuit of sexual abuse. According to media reports, one woman alleged that Brady sexually abused her every Sunday after services at St. Catherine’s of Genoa Parish and School in Manhattan, and on trips to Bear Mountain from 1944 to 1948 when she was seven years old.

She states that Brady also abused her sister and a group of other young girls during the same time frame. Her claims are included in a civil suit filed in February 2004 by herself and 14 other abuse victims against a total of 11 priests.

Brady was named on the Archdiocese of New York’s 2019 List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor or the Subject of Eligible IRCP Compensation Claims.

Brady died in 1950.
