Fr. Thomas A Burke was accused in a lawsuit for sexually abusing a child at St. Sylvester’s R.C. Church in Concord, NY in the 1960s. The victim was a student at the time of abuse where Burke was assigned. According to media reports, the alleged abuse was said to have occurred from 1966 to 1969 when the plaintiff was 11 to 14 years old. The report states that Burke engaged in unpermitted sexual contact with the plaintiff.

Burke died in 1984 in Troy, NY, at the age of 72.
