Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Luis Eduardo Ramirez:
Fr. Luis Eduardo Ramirez was ordained an Augustinian Recollects order priest in 2003, who served in the Diocese of Orange. According to media reports, in 2008, he was arrested and charged by Anaheim police on suspicion of child annoyance or molestation and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to reports, Fr. Ramirez told the victim's parents that he was taking their son to a youth seminar, but instead drove to a restaurant in Orange where he ordered two margaritas for the victim, then brought the boy to Cortona Inn and Suites in Anaheim. There, the priest rented a room and tried to order a pornographic film. He was arrested after taking the 17-year-old parishioner to a motel room where he rented a pornographic movie.
Fr. Ramirez was arrested and bailed out by his order. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and burglary. He was sentenced to six months in jail and 3 years probation but was released from jail in 2009. Upon his release, he had all privileges removed. Fr. Ramirez's current location and whether he has access to children is unknown.
