Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Daniel McDonough:

Br. Daniel McDonough was a member of the Congregation of Christian Brothers, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he was one of ten brothers, and two laymen accused by more than 30 men in a May 2013 civil lawsuit of sexual abuse at Brother Rice High School in Chicago and St. Laurence High School in Burbank, CA, both ran by the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers North American Province.

A $16.5 million payout to 400 accusers nationwide came out of a Chapter 11 reorganization settlement between creditors and the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers North American Province, known as Irish Christian Brothers. Additionally, the order agreed to enforce a zero-tolerance policy for brothers accused of abuse. The details of the sexual abuse allegations, including when and where the alleged abuse occurred, or the victim’s age/gender, are unknown.
