Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Albert Pacheco:

According to media reports, Fr. Albert Pacheco has been named in at least two civil lawsuits alleging child sexual abuse. He denied the allegations. He was removed from ministry in 1987. One suit was settled in 1994.

Fr. Pacheco is listed on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles‘ List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. The details of the sexual abuse allegations, including when and where the alleged abuse occurred, or the victim’s age/gender, are unknown. Fr. Pacheco’s status as a priest, whereabouts, and assignments are unknown.

In May 2012, Fr. Albert Pacheco’s personnel file was released. It revealed that the priest was laicized in March 1994. His name was included on the Santa Barbara Province Franciscans list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse released in May 2019. It notes allegations of abuse occurring in 1975, and 1978 to 1983, received in 1988, 1992, 2004 and 2019. He was also named by Diocese of Orange on its list of accused priests.
