Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Forrest McDonald:

Fr. Forrest McDonald was a Franciscan priest who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he was accused of child sexual abuse that occurred in the 1960s and 1970s. Fr. McDonald was named in an August 2008 civil lawsuit filed against the Franciscan Friars and Old Mission Santa Barbara which alleged that the Franciscans constituted “an ongoing public nuisance as a result of their practice of shuttling pedophile priests among communities without warning members of the public that a sexual predator might be in their midst.”

Fr. McDonald’s status as a priest, current whereabouts, and whether he has access to children are unknown. He is named on the Santa Barbara Province Franciscans 2019 list of Credibly Accused Clergy of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
