Fr. Gaspar Bautista, originally from Huejutla, Mexico, was ordained a priest in 1975, and incarnated in 2004, into the Diocese of Fresno. He served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, in 2016, he was placed on leave after the Diocese of Fresno was alerted by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles about allegations reported that he was involved in inappropriate behavior with a minor. The alleged incidents were said to have occurred in 1999 or 2000; during Bautista’s time in Los Angeles. They were not made public until October of 2018.
