Father Herman Flynn, a native of Canada, was ordained a priest of the Holy Ghost Fathers in 1929, and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of San Diego. He was assigned to dioceses in South Carolina, Michigan and Virginia before being transferred to San Diego. He served in San Diego from 1963-1977.
Father Herman Flynn’s name appeared on the updated list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse released by the diocese in March 2007. No specific information can be found about the allegations against him.
He died in April 1977. His personnel file was released in October 2010 in accordance with a nonmonetary provision of the Diocese of San Diego settlement, as ordered on August 29, 2008 by Judge Emilie Elias, of the Los Angeles Superior Court.
