Fr. James Devaney was a priest who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he was a member of the Trinitarian religious order. Fr. Devaney was accused in a civil lawsuit of sexually abusing at least one person in 1968-1969 at Ascension Catholic Church in Los Angeles. The details of the sexual abuse allegations, including the victim’s age/gender, are unknown. Fr. Devaney was listed on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Report Errata Notice # 1 of Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. Fr.
