Fr. John Mitchell was was ordained a Paulist  priest in 1938, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, in 1994, Fr. Mitchell was accused of child sexual abuse in 1968. The details of the sexual abuse allegations, including where the alleged abuse occurred, or the victim’s age/gender, are unknown.

Fr. Mitchell was named publicly on Charleston’s Diocese and on the Paulists’ 2019 list of Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
