Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father John Hurley:

Father John Hurley was ordained in Ireland in 1928 for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Diocese of San Diego. According to media reports, in December 2003, he was named in a civil lawsuit alleging child sexual abuse in 1949 while he served at Our Lady of the Valley in Canoga Park, California. Father Hurley’s name appeared on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ 2004 list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors.

He retired in 1989 and died in 1992.
