Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Jose Medrano Ilagan:

According to media reports, Father Jose Medrano Ilagan’s name was quietly added, along with 23 others, to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ 2013 Final Addendum of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. It lists 49 “names of clergy from a follow up review of Archdiocesan files, and names of clergy involved in Clergy I litigation which were not previously posted.” The Los Angeles Times reports that the 24 names were disclosed in a report posted on the archdiocese’s website in January 2013 along with 12,000 pages of internal records detailing how the church dealt with abuse claims.

No announcement was made by the archdiocese of the document’s publication, although it is clearly related to the archdiocese’s release on the same day of clergy files, under the nonmonetary terms of the 2007 settlement.

Father Ilagan’s current whereabouts are unknown.
