Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Roderic Guerrini:

Father Roderic Guerrini was ordained in Ireland for the Jesuits in 1963. He arrived in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 1975, and was incardinated in 1988.  According to media reports, in 1992, a woman alleged that he had inappropriately touched and kissed her in 1977 and 1978 when she was 15 years old at Santa Clara in Oxnard. The woman’s two sisters made similar complaints and police investigated the allegations.

Father Guerrini was referred to a therapist in the early 1990s but was allowed to remain in ministry serving as a pastor at St. Mark in Venice. He retired in June 2002 after the allegations went public.

In 2003, he was one of many priests named in a huge child sexual abuse lawsuit. His name was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ 2005 report addendum of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. In July 2007, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles reached a mass settlement for $660 million for more than 500 child sexual abuse cases.

In October 2018, Father Guerrini was named in another lawsuit alleging child sexual abuse. In December 2018, his name appeared on the Jesuits’ West list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. He is believed to be living at the Nazareth House in Los Angeles.
