Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Thomas Moloney:

Father Thomas Moloney was ordained a priest in Ireland in 1943. Prior to coming to the United States and serving in multiple parishes in the Diocese of San Diego, he spent his first three years after ordination working in the Diocese of Salford in Manchester, England, until WWII was over. According to media reports, in December 2003, he was named in a civil lawsuit alleging that Father Moloney sexually abused a boy at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Riverside in 1963.

In March 2007, his name was included in the Diocese of San Diego’s list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors.

In October 2010, as part of a settlement with survivors of clergy sexual abuse, the Diocese of San Diego released his personnel file. His file contained a letter from 2002 written by a woman to the Bishop alleging that she was sexually harassed by Father Moloney at Our Lady of Grace at El Cajon in the 1950s.

Father Moloney died in 1986.
