Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Patrick Purcell:

Fr. Patrick Purcell was ordained a Dominican Order priest in 1928, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he was accused of child sexual abuse that occurred from 1950 to 1951 at Monastery of the Angeles in Los Angeles, CA. In 2003, Fr. Purcell was named in a civil lawsuit that alleged he sexually abused a 15-year-old-boy.

Purcell left the order in the 1950s. He died in 1964 while living in El Paso, Texas. In 2004, Fr. Purcell’s name was listed on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
