Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Francis Duffy:

Fr. Francis Duffy was ordained a priest of the Oregon Province in 1943. He worked in Washington, Montana, Oregon, and served briefly in the Diocese of San Jose. According to media reports, in the early 2000s, child sex abuse allegations against Duffy began to surface. He has been accused of sexually abusing at least five girls, ages 6 to 12, in the 1960s and 19’70s, and a “vulnerable adult” woman in the late 1980s. The abuse is said to have occurred while Duffy worked in Oregon and Washington state. All of the lawsuits against Duffy were settled.

In 2018, Duffy was included on the Diocese of Falls-Billings list of priests accused of sexual abuse. In 2018, Duffy was included on the Jesuits West Province list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse. It noted allegations reported in 2002, 2008, and 2009 in reference to abuse that took place in 1949-1950, 1967-1969, 1977-1978.

Duffy died in 1992.
