Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Bryan O. Walsh:

Fr. Bryan O. Walsh was born and trained in Ireland and ordained in the St. Augustine diocese. Walsh became a priest in Miami when the diocese was erected in 1958. He is an internationally known refugee and immigrant advocate, founder of Catholic Charities, and organizer of Cuba’s Pedro Pan Operation that helped over 15,000 Cuban children flee the island regime.

Walsh was accused in a 2006 complaint of sexual abuse of a 14-year-old boy in 1964. The accuser said he was abused at a provisional camp in Opa-Locka, Florida in 1964 when he was 14 and under the care of the Catholic Welfare Bureau.

Very little is known of Walsh’s activities within the church as the Archdiocese of Miami has not released any information about Walsh’s assignment history.

Walsh died in 2001.
