Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Juan Ramon O’Farrill:

Fr. Juan Ramon O’Farrill was ordained in 1945, originally from Cuba. In 1959, he sought political asylum in the United States.

In 2011, a civil suit alleged that O’Farrill sexually molested a 16-year-old boy from Nicaragua who sought counseling from him at St. Michael the Archangel in west Little Havana, Miami, Florida in 1988. O’Farrill allegedly gave the boy alcohol in orange juice and performed a sexual act on him. Just before his death he was arrested and charged with giving an alibi to a robber in exchange for sex.

Very little is known of O’Farrill’s activities within the church as the Archdiocese of Miami has not released any information about O’Farrill’s assignment history.

O’Farrill died in 1994.
