Mr. Mark Major was a lay teacher who worked at Sacred Heart High School in the Diocese of Scranton. According to media reports, in October 2020, his name was one of eight additional names that have been added to its list of individuals who have been credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor. The Diocese assesses the credibility of allegations of abuse utilizing a process that includes assessments by outside counsel and investigation by a former FBI agent. The details of the sexual abuse allegations, including when and where the alleged abuse occurred, or the victim’s age/gender, are unknown.
