MASSAGE ENVY IN AVENTURA TARGETED IN SEXUAL ASSAULT LAWSUIT

Horowitz Law has filed a lawsuit in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court against the the Massage Envy franchise in Aventura, Florida arising from an alleged incident of sexual misconduct by massage therapist Melvyn King during an appointment at Massage Envy on July 17, 2019.  This Massage Envy franchise is located at  20633 Biscayne Blvd. in Aventura, Florida.

According to the lawsuit, during the massage appointment, Melyn King leaned over his female client and rubbed his crotch onto her upper and lower arm, pressing his erect penis against her. The client reportedly tried to move her arm out of the way to avoid this contact, which was unexpected, shocking and uncomfortable.  The lawsuit says that King continued to lean over and rub his lower torso and groin area against the client’s arm and she could feel something hard against her arm.  King allegedly started breathing heavy near her, which made her extremely uncomfortable and desperate to end the massage.  At that time, the client told told King that she had to use the restroom so he would leave and allow her to get dressed.

All massage therapist in Florida are licensed by the Florida Department of Health.  Other states have similar licensing boards.  If your massage therapist makes any sexual contact with you, it is a violation of professional ethics and may be a crime.  In addition to reporting misconduct to law enforcement, if this incident occurs in Florida you can also lodge a complaint with the Department of Health at this website: https://www.flhealthcomplaint.gov
