Fr. Anthony Trapani was ordained a priest in 1973 at St. Agnes Cathedral. He served in multiple parishes, and spent 20 years of active duty as a chaplain in the United States Navy. He then returned to serve in Long Island, NY. He was A veteran of the 1991 Persian Gulf War, and served at Bremerton Naval Hospital for two-and-a-half years.
Fr. Trapani’s name is listed on the Diocese of Rockville Centre’s 2021 List of Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. The list states that the alleged sexual abuse occurred while Fr. Trapani worked at St. Martha Church in Uniondale, NY, sometime between 1977-1984. The details of the sexual abuse allegations, including the victim’s age/gender, are unknown. He died in 2013 at the age of 71.
