Dn. Willis Broussard was ordained in 1977, and served in the Diocese of Lafayette. According to media reports, in April 2019, he was publicly named on the Diocese’ list as a deacon “against whom credible accusations have been made regarding sexual abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult.” Information about the date, age/gender of his alleged victim/victims and the nature of the alleged sexual abuse was not provided by the Diocese of Lafayette. The alleged abuse took place while Broussard served as a deacon and eucharistic minister at St. John the Evangelist in Mermentau, LA.
Willis Broussard resigned from the ministry in 1990. In 2002, he moved to Sulphur, LA. He died in 2020.
