Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. John Hardman:

Fr. John Hardman was ordained a Josephite priest in 1944, and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Baton Rouge. According to media reports, in December of 2018, the Archdiocese of Mobile included Fr. John Hardman’s name on its list of credibly accused clergy. His name appeared on the list based on reports of abuse that occurred between 1972 and 1978. The diocese did not indicate when the allegation was received nor did it provide any information regarding the gender/age of the victim, or the number of people who have come forward.

According to media reports, in February 2019, the Diocese of Baton Rouge named Fr. Hardman on its list of former clergy members who are accused of abusing minors. The abuse did not take place when Fr. Hardman was serving in the Baton Rouge area.

Fr. John Hardman died in 2007.
