Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Ralph Lawrence:

Father Ralph Lawrence was ordained a priest in 1916, and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Baton Rouge. According to media reports, in November 2018, his name appeared publicly on the Archdiocese of New Orleans’ list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. It noted an allegation of abuse in the early 1930s that was received in 1935. Further details about the allegation are unknown.

Father Lawrence was removed from ministry and took a “leave of absence” in 1935. He died in 1992 at 102 years old. In early 2019, his name appeared publicly on the Diocese of Baton Rouge’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors.
