Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Ronald Burt:

Father Ronald Burt was ordained a priest in 1921, and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, in 1986, a mother reported to the Paulist Fathers that Fr. Ronald Francis Burt sexually abused her son. The reports state the abuse occurred between 1973 and 1979 when Fr. Burt worked at Good Shepard in New York, New York.

Fr. Burt reportedly admitted to the abuse, was sent to treatment, and was ultimately removed from ministry. Fr. Burt served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Archdiocese New York, and Diocese of Palm Beach during his tenure. In 2019, Fr. Burt’s name was included on their List of Paulist Fathers with Credible Claims of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. Fr. Burt’s status as a priest, whereabouts, and whether he had access to children from 1986 until his death in 1994 is unknown.
