Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Donald Joyce:

Father Donald Joyce was a priest of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate order. He worked in the archdioceses of Washington DC, and Boston, Massachusetts, as well as the Dioceses of Buffalo NY, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Charlotte, North Carolina and San Antonio, Texas. According to media reports, he was named in a lawsuit alleging he fondled and attempted to rape an 11-year old altar boy in Massachusetts, from 1977 to 1979. According to the alleged victim, Father Joyce gave him alcohol, paid for meals and took him on secluded outings. He took him and two other altar boys on an extended month long trip along the northeastern coast, paying for lodging and expensive meals. It was then Father Joyce tried to rape the boy.

The case was settled for an undisclosed amount with the Archdiocese of Boston. As of 2011, he has been barred from working as a priest. Since then he has been working as Director of Libraries at Oblate College in San Antonio, a job that "does not involve minors."
