Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Guido Caverzan:

Fr. Guido Caverzan was ordained a Scalabrinian priest in 1950. According to media reports, in July 1977, two families reported to the Order that Caverzan sexually abused their two minor sons, and alleged he had also sexually abused a third boy. In October 1994, a memo found in the Archdiocese of Boston's files indicated there were two additional allegations of abuse against Caverzan. In January 2003, he was named in a lawsuit alleging he sexually abused a minor altar boy at St. Lazarus in Boston, Massachusetts in the mid-1970s.

In February 2004, Caverzan was named in a lawsuit alleging he sexually abused a 10-year-old boy at Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Manhattan, New York between 1966 and 1968. The boy was allegedly abused in the sacristy while preparing to assist the priest with early morning mass.

The Scalabrinians removed Caverzan from ministry shortly before his death in September 1994. His name was not included in the 2011 Archdiocese of Boston's database of credibly accused clergy because he was an Order priest.
