Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father John J Lynch:

In 2019, an allegation of abuse of a minor was brought against Fr. John J Lynch. According to media reports, the allegation was said to have occurred in the 1980s and was deemed "credible and substantiated" by the Archdiocese of New York's independent Lay Review Board.

Lynch had served as administrator of Immaculate Conception since 1996 until the allegation surfaced. Lynch, who denied the allegation, was placed on administrative leave in 2019. The Archdiocese of New York has reportedly removed Lynch from ministry.

Lynch was named on the Archdiocese of New York's 2019 List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor or the Subject of Eligible IRCP Compensation Claims. The details of the sexual abuse allegations, including where the alleged abuse occurred or the victim's age/gender, are unknown. Lynch's status as a priest, whereabouts, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
